This is the first four chapters of a book, so it does not provide all the bells and whistles for a database-driven site. It provides clear explanations and demonstrations of many basic PHP and MySQL functions. Though limited in detail, the concepts are covered in a way that serves to educate the novice in PHP and MySQL while demonstrating concrete methods for interaction and development. Top-quality writing make this a perfect first stop in learning to develop database-driven sites.

A fantastic tutorial that leads you in gently and then shows you how to build complex sites, explaining both the PHP and SQL sides of things.
